I went through the same thing back in 2012 with my '92 900 NT. I used a piece of 1/2" "Gates Safety Stripe" heater hose from that Irish-sounding parts store. I think it was around 6", but you'll be safe with a 12" piece for sure (never hurts to have a spare, right?). Gates makes a quality product IMHO.
If it's leaking coolant around that area, the o-ring for the throttle body's water jacket may have perished as well. I found a similar o-ring at the local hardware store and used some water pump sealant to take care of the issue. Something to check while you're in there.
