Hi all. I'm about to undertake the biggest repair of my new favorite hobby...keeping my Saab going on the cheap! Mine is an '87 Turbo vert. I need to replace the rear pads and rotors.
I'm trying to understand the Bentley instructions. I understand that I need to remove the old pads and get the calipers out of the way to get the rotor off. One of the instructions states to remove the rigid brake line at the caliper...this does not mean opening up the brake fluid system, does it? If all goes well, I won't need to bleed system when I'm done, correct?
Another instruction is to use a NEW bolt locking plate when re-installing the caliper. From eeuroparts.com I ordered the brake hardware kit, and there are two anti rattle clips but nothing that looks like the bolt locking plate from the diagram. I can't even find where to purchase one of these...is it really necessary to replace and use a new one?
