1990 SPG Air Conditioning is missing the..... Posted by vsfoxe [Email] (#1025) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vsfoxe) on Thu, 28 Aug 2014 19:48:21 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
necessary 12 volts to run the compressor. Freon is fine (R12) and it will cool great if I jumper 12 volts to it, as I have done. My question is about the Anti-Frost switch (Coolant Temperature switch/Anti-Freeze switch). It's that 2-wire thing up over the ECU, with the probe which sticks into the Evaporator. Bentley says the 2 wires are Blue & Blue/White starting in 1986. My car has Green/White & Blue/White instead (like in 1985). Anyone have any insight into that? I miss Ari!!!!! Other question is - can I simply short the 2 wires that go to the Anti-Frost switch together, and the clutch should engage?
I found one wire disconnected from it, and think "AHA!!!" but it made no difference. The other day I found that the engine cooling fan was unplugged. "Yes!!!" but it made no difference. Before that I found that the fuse to the engine cooling fan (25) was blown. "AHA!!!" but it made no difference. Maybe I should leave it permanently jury-rigged! Vern
