Cantankerous Auto Trans Posted by Mike900S [Email] (#3419) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike900S) on Sat, 4 Oct 2014 12:27:28 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Ref 1994 900S, auto, 137,700 mi. I was experiencing seriously delayed up shifts until the engine/trans warmed up. Had the problem for the last 2,000 mi. Finally removed and cleaned the governor. Now I have delayed up shifts all the time!
Bentley says to "check pipes between governor and valve body," then neither explains the procedure, nor identifies the pipes. The Saab Service Manual (1985 edition), section 4, does not identify which pipes go where.
My questions are: does the valve body have to be removed to get at the particular pipes (and borings)?, are any specials tools needed to do that?, which pipes run between the governor and valve body (with maybe reference to one of the pictures in the Service Manual)?
Thanks very much.
