Price differentials? Posted by ChrisMiami [Email] (#1592) [Profile/Gallery] (more from ChrisMiami) on Sun, 5 Oct 2014 09:08:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
This happens to me a lot, and I'm curious. For example, looking at a PCV Check valve, you can get one for $3.49 or $22.99. Neither is "Genuine SAAB" which are always 3-400% higher priced due, I'm sure to rarity as well as quality. But is there a substantial enough difference in quality between these non-SAAB items to justify paying an extra $20?
I'm not knocking anyone here - each company can set their price and I'm sure the seller takes a fair markup, but I've never seen markets that have such drastic differentials in prices for equivalent items, and I'm wondering if it's due to the international nature of the suppliers (no direct competition) or if the quality of the higher cost part is really 10 times better?
Thanks,
Chris
