Rich,
I'd say that it is the dealer in general and particular the diagnostician that altogether are causing that problem. A real specialist would have installed the required FW (firmware) card into the dealer's TechII and then do the following:
- having huge background of working with Saab models he is aware of TechII-SRS adapter harness needed to work with that modern TechII diagnostic tool on C900 SRS. Or that special Saab SRS diagnostic tool if the mentioned dealership dates back to ol'days of C900 herds hitting the roads. Nevertheless, it takes 3 minutes to confirm the SRS wiring (that the wires in the SRS diagnostic port are indeed connected to appropriate SRS ECU pins) and then either SRS ECU is reset or confirmed to be DIA and to be replaced.
- about the same procedure is applied to LH Jetronic CEL issue: either TechII goes online with LH ECU or one has to spend about 5 minutes to check LH diagnostic port wiring whether it is indeed connected to appropriate LH ECU pins. The diagrams needed can be found in user-oriented Bentley manual or Saab Factory Service manuals which the dealer must have got on the shelf since... well, because it is the dealer.
As for you boost issue, I'd say that you better first calibrate the gauge using some real 0-1,5 bar gauge and a 20 cm3 medical syringe. Then proceed with APC troubleshooting procedure which is widely covered in TSN archives and other FAQ places like Townsend's, twinsaabs, thesaabsite and so forth (my wild guess goes for either bad knock sensor connector/wiring or brake-light signal issue).
Good luck,
Zig
