...but seriously, not sure why the very long cranking on first startup after a long sleep. Maybe battery was low, maybe plugs need gapping or replacing, maybe (quite likely) the fuel pump check valve is bad or, bad or not, the fuel rail had lost pressure during the shutdown, etc.
Running it more often WILL let you know if there's a problem with long cranks and will keep the battery charged.
As to failure to crank when battery tests fine, after the car is warmed up and has started fine a few times, Simon's right maybe the ignition switch. Or starter solenoid contacts, which IS a starter as I don't know of the solenoid itself being easily replaced.
I'd wait and see, if it's a switch or solenoid problem there will be a very long road downwards before it begins to respond rarely or never.
Oh, could this be an automatic? If so, the neutral safety switch on the side of the shifter. Wiggle it around or try starting in neutral instead of park.
