does the '88 have LH2.2 or 2.4? With 2.2 it will be in closed loop (O2 sensor cycling) except for when you trip the throttle switch into WOT. So on a wideband O2 it will show an AFR cycling around 14.7 under almost all highway driving conditions. I have a '87 (LH2.2), with a wideband sensor, and it shows an AFR cycling 14-16. What do you see when you go WOT? Also, I think the stock AMM runs out of range pretty quickly, it just puts out a max voltage anywhere above 4k rpm's...
