Rear Engine Seal How To

For those who need to change the rear engine seal, the one behind the fly wheel, this is how I do it without the special and expensive tool.
1. Remove the clutch plate, flywheel, pressure plate, slave cylinder, etc.
2. Take out the old seal. Careful, do not stick the screwdriver in too far, which may mar the engine surface.
3. Grease the inner surface, where the flywheel bolts onto the crank shaft.
4. Buy a 2 litre plastic bottle of coke or other such carbonated drink. This needs to have a smooth and flat middle. Drink it or pour it out.
5. Cut out a loop about two inches thick, that is the diameter of the bottle.
6. Cut the loop into a strip.
7. Put the new gasket onto the surface of the engine, and put the plastic strip on the inner lip. This will keep the inner spring pushed back and in place.
8. Gently tap the new gasket into place.
9. Remove the plastic strip.
10. Put the engine back together
That's how you do it without spending 190$ on a tool you'll use once!
