Have two friends with AC problems this spring. A 86na and a 89T. Both cars had functioning systems with good pressure and no leaks. Both lost AC but their systems would work with a direct jumper wire to the clutch. Went thru the Townsend check of the three switches by jumpering them. Switched the snowflake switch and relays with known good ones. Still no AC. Finally we noticed a dangling wire in the vicinity of the anti-frost switch. Checked it with a meter and noticed it gave 12V when the snowflake switch was depressed. Disconnected the frost switch and connected the dangling wire to the frost power feed wire. AC worked !!! Is still working several months later. Ironically a 3rd friend with a 87TC was helping me and he's the one who discovered the dangling wire. Now his 87TC lost AC a couple weeks ago and he's running around with a jumper wire directly to his AC clutch. Here we go again !
