Bad AC Compressor relay? opinions please Posted by Notnoel [Email] (#23) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Notnoel) on Wed, 10 Jun 2015 10:07:28 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
OK, I finished my diagnostics last night. Everything at the relay seems to check out per diagnostic schemes I found at Townsend (see link below) and the Swedish Wrench
Swedish wrench - http://www_swedishwrench.com/ACdiag/ACdiag1.htm (cut-n-past to browser and replace the _ with a .)
I've checked everything except pulling the bolster and cheking the temperature switch on the evaporator (ETS), but as I read the Townsend chart, as long as I've got 12v at pin 86, that means that the ETS (item #171 on Townsend's wiring diagram), that means the ETS is energizing the circuit and there's no reason to tear my dashboard apart.
So........, that being said, if everything else checks out, then it is a bad relay, right? I want to be sure the braintrust agrees, because I have already tried a replacement relay with no positive results. I suppose both of them could easily be bad, but want to be sure I haven't overlooked something before I drop $50.
TIA,
Noel
