I must have purchased eEuro's last one (proparts) then. I just installed it about a month ago.
In 14 years it's the 2nd I have replaced. Both proparts. The valve doesn't fail. It's the internal packing. It gets soft & warm when hot coolant passes through and then goes hard & cold overnight. Rubber doesn't stand up to abuse like that very long. If you live in a colder climate and use the heat a lot it will of course reduce the life cycle.
9 of 14 years were in Virginia. New England is a punishing environment for flimsy rubber packing.
