No upholstery. Its a permanent bed for car camping. Because it's an alternate set up I just remove bed panels/locker and reinstall the rear passenger seats when needed in less then 10 minutes.
I removed the upholstery and built a coffin locker in between the bottom and back panels. With the springs and upholstery removed I have a few inches of storage across the entire back seat and ample room without having to wedge the bottom seat in an awkward vertical position that just gets in the way.
