The comment that I can make about the HCV flange surface -- the ones I've seen from the aftermarket manufacturer weren't flat. After rubbing the flange surface down with abrasive paper, the flat surface was able to seal up better, and the O rings were able to lay flat enough to seal the interface.
When talking with Scanwest today, mention of what the Swedish rally team did was interesting. Being that they run in the winter, they plumbed in the transmission oil to be cooled by the heater core and in the process the cabin was heated as well. Now, that is ingenious, but not sure I would want to have it set up like that for a Georgia summer.......
