I tried to respond to the email you sent, but your service is blocking my mail server.
Regarding the dash light problem you mentioned, aside from a blown fuse or just burned out light bulbs a common problem is the dimmer rheostat in the dash goes bad. You can jumper across its terminals and if that's the problem you'll get full illumination. (The C900 dash is not brightly lit anyway so you might even leave it like that if it works.)
Really you should get the Bentley manual which has pretty complete servicing information and wiring diagrams. You didn't say which model C900 it is. If a 900S or turbo with the 16-valve engine you would get this manual: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/083761693X/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=083761693X&linkCode=as2&tag=thesaabnetwork
If it's the base model with the 8-valve engine this is what you need: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0837603102/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=0837603102&linkCode=as2&tag=thesaabnetwork
(You could also look on ebay or a used book site for these.)
The C900 is actually not difficult to work on overall but is "different" than what most mainstream mechanics are accustomed to so many just don't want to deal with it.
