Sometimes you can fix the burnt connector Posted by SaabStalker [Email] (#1098) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SaabStalker) on Sun, 7 Feb 2016 19:56:24 In Reply to: This a 4 door or convertible - right?, tweetiedancer, Sun, 7 Feb 2016 06:31:31 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Removing a set of tail lights today I looked for the common burnt connector, There is a probe on the drivers side circuit board it aligns with the blue wire clip in the large tail light plug in. Often the blue wire clip is burnt or broken. The one today had only half the clip. Having gone through this before I have other burnt plugs with the blue wire terminal shot. I remove a good clip and length of wire of one other color wires in the donor plug in and splice it to the wiring harness blue wire. Felt tip it blue for consistency. I emery board the probe in the circuit board and use a little WD 40 to flush it out. Its also good to do the additional ground as already suggested as eventually the excess current will burn the blue wire terminal again. probably over kill, but you own a Saab don't you?
