Questions about effects of Removing Air Conditioning... Posted by vsfoxe [Email] (#1025) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vsfoxe) on Mon, 11 Apr 2016 15:44:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
1986 C900 Turbo 5-speed. The complete A/C system has been removed by P.O. I'm just starting to try to sort things out. I had engine replaced last summer. Driving around temp is fine (below 1/2). If left in the yard to idle, it overheats. Hope it didn't ruin the new head gasket installed during engine change! I verified that ALL fuses under hood are good, and tried to jumper the engine fan at the radiator sensor at top left of radiator - no go. My Q is - is there anything that needs to be done during A/C removal in order to keep the fans running properly? I tried selecting A/C at switch, but still zero fans.
I noticed that the A/C high-temp sensor (?) in the upper radiator hose is not connected, but I don't think that should affect fan operation? But I'm pretty stupid about electrical. Anything? I'll study the Bentley tonight. Thanks In Advance! Vern
