Sounds like you have it worked out! I doubt your cv's are shot, but that just depends on how much dust and stuff got in there. Are you having him do anything else while in there? For the inner drivers, i always use either amsoil or lucus 'red and tacky' or some such grease with a high drop point of over 500f. Stops the pass side from wearing out, and keeps everything nice and smooth. Might want to make a point of specifying a high temp grease for the pass side particularly.
