I think it's one of those things that isn't too hard, but it does take some effort and time. Assuming the issue is the old Clarion radio...
Because you have a '94, your radio powers the FRONT speakers directly. The amp for doing that is actually on the back of a metal basket that holds the radio in place. There's also wiring running from the radio under the carpet to a second amp, located under the rear seat. this amp powers the REAR speakers.
A new, modern radio will be able to power all four speakers with its own built-in amp.
I recommend Crutchfield. They can sell you the new radio, directions to install, the tool needed to remove the old radio, the wiring harness adapters used to connect the new radio to the existing speakers/power/antenna, and new wire for connecting up the rear speakers. Also, you can call them and they will walk you through each step.
The basic steps to do a replacement are:
1) remove the old radio with the DIN tool.
2) remove the metal basket by prying on its tabs a bit, then pulling.
3) unplug everything from the back of the metal basket.
4) install new radio, use provided wiring harnesses. this will handle power/antenna/FRONT speakers.
5) connect the new wire you bought to the REAR speaker wires that you see there in the dash. color-coding tells you what's what.
6) remove the rear seat bottom. you just pull up and it comes out.
7) the rear amp is hidden under a structural piece of the car. no need to remove it, you can see the bundle of wires that comes out of it.
8) snip four wires in that bundle: (+) and (-) for right rear, same for for left rear. these are color-coded, so you know what's what.
9) attach the other end of your new wire to those four wires.
10) you should now have sound from all four.
11) last trick is to figure out how to hide the wires to the rear. if you pull up the sill on the passenger's side (you remove the torx bolts holding it down), you can pull back the carpet and him them there. This takes some fiddling.
I got the wire color-coding from my Bentley guide, and can share that info if you want.
Good luck!
