Auto tranny gear selector crescent ladder may be broken Posted by walt [Email] (#2707) [Profile/Gallery] (more from walt) on Wed, 14 Dec 2016 19:26:54 In Reply to: Saab 900 classic: automatic will not shift into lower gears, BurgerDude [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 13 Dec 2016 09:31:19 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Selector is positioned by a crescent shaped ladder that programs selector to lock in Park, Reverse, Neutral-Drive, 2nd, or 1st. See photo taken from right side of console. To move from one of these positions to another, one depresses button on end of selector handle. If this crescent shaped device has broken or sheared the tiny split tension pins that retain it, then the shifter won't feel/move right.
