1983T to 1988 8v n/a: Similar enough for a swap?

Hi everyone,
Long time since I've posted, but as I learn about the c900, and read and read, I find that I need to call on the collective expertise...
I have a chance to buy two 8v 900's -- an '88 n/a driver and an '83 turbo parts car (complete, functional, but rusted out). Will the 83 be a viable donor for a _complete full boost_ swap into the '88, or are the Jetronics different and thus incompatible. Or is there some other MY difference (I.e. major wiring differences) that will make this inadvisable (a subjective question, I know.) My plan is to pull/swap motors and other components using the Bentley manual as a guide.
Like I said, I've read (and read, and re-read) about swaps and I want to do this...but I just don't know the MY differences well enough yet. Not have I mastered all of the vocab. Meanwhile, the time-to-buy clock is ticking.
I humbly ask for advice.
Thanks,
Andy
