And, if they are copper washers, then you should anneal them before you use them. Just put them on a non flammable surface and heat them with a plumbers torch until they are red hot, then just cool down. They are annealed, and soft to put in. Just sitting in a bin, will let them air harden over time, so you should do that as a preventative measure.
