Reason for stall?

It's an -88 turbo. It is running really well and boosts easily up to orange/red.
The problem is that after some extended high boost driving (uphill freeway for example) the car
can die with zero warning. It cannot be restarted. Only after several hours of cool down (over night)
the car starts and drives very well again.
Seems like temperature plays a role, why would it start only after a complete cool down otherwise?
Any suggestions??
Thanks,
Per
