Starts, runs, but will not idle Posted by rld082982 [Email] (#2197) [Profile/Gallery] (more from rld082982) on Tue, 22 Aug 2017 12:31:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a '92 turbo that sat for about 4-5 years, and have been going through it's restore the past 2 months. I had it running within the first 2 weeks, and it actually sounded good with the exception of the exhaust system which has since been replaced. I even was able to drive it around the yard a few times!
I've also replaced the fuel filter, oxygen cylinder, the radiator fan switch
At this point, the way the engine was running, I was hoping that I could maybe get it on the road and into the shop to go through some diagnostics that I can't do myself.
BUT, just about the same time as I installed the new oxygen cylinder.. it's really gone downhill. The car turns over just fine (sometimes the starter gets stuck and requires a hammer on the solenoid) but will immediately stall out if I don't apply gas. It runs and revs up (although the tac doesn't go above 2 for some weird reason) but stalls as soon as I let off the gas.
I know the first thing I should check for any vacuum leaks but I believe I've thoroughly done that. I also checked and replaced the spark plugs which were filthy with no white showing.
Could it be the fuel injectors?
