The upper timing chain guide, part no. 30518277 It is mounted inside the valve cover itself above the timing chain. It is rubber and dries out which can cause a chattering from the timing chain when under load. The other timing chain guides are of different material but should be inspected -- along with your timing chain tensioner (details in other posts).
Check Bentley for the four areas around the cover's outer gasket that should be sealed with a sealant. Originally this called for a silicone RTV, but the anaerobic Locktite 518 is many peoples' choice -- no bits of silicone breaking off into the oiling system.
Also inspect the PCV bushing, which can be done without removing the cover, but can sometimes break off inside requiring the removal of the cover to retrieve pieces.
You can do the distributor o-ring anytime, but it's also a good time to update it while working in this area.
