The cruise control is entirely self contained - the stalk, the "computer," and the vacuum pump. There is power, ground, and a speed signal input and that's about it. The "base boost" switch modifies APC behavior, but is not tied to the cruise control. The clutch/brake switches that defeat cruise control just interrupt power.
You do need to bypass the starter interlock from the PRNDL selector, otherwise the starter won't work. :)
