Tachometer replacement Posted by Jawerdna [Email] (#2022) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Jawerdna) on Mon, 30 Jul 2018 12:28:42 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've had a dead tach in my 86 PSG since last fall. The needle jumps sometimes when I shut off the ignition but doesn't move otherwise. I pulled the cluster yesterday and swapped the tach with a known good one but its still not working. I'm guessing there's a problem with the blue circuit board? The clock and all the bulbs work and it appears to be in good shape.
Is it common for just a part of the circuit board, in this case the tach, to fail like this? Is my only other option to find a functional blue circuit from the same vintage? Not sure what else to do.
Thanks..
