It was a warped rotor. I threw on the rotor I had replaced eight years ago and now I'm driving on air. What a crazy trip to end with a rusty piece of junk (the old rotor) I hadn't gotten around to getting rid of and twenty minutes of my time. If I had posted on saabnet in the first place I wouldn't have gone off and replaced my inner drivers. I actually replaced my pass side driver twice because the first time I swapped the driver side to the pass side and thought I had installed a driver which had already been swapped over. Hah! I am very grateful for all the excellent advice. The tire comments have moved me to call on my favorite retailer in the morning to at least balance both front wheels. The pass side was thunking a bit when I jacked the car up in a shopping center parking lot late last night. It's remarkable how one problem can make the difference between a car that is a pain and one that drives like a dream. Many thanks!!
