I think 1990 convertibles have the early seats. Even though they have the airbag. Other 1990 model 900's got the later 9000 style seats, but for some reason the convertible didn't until 1991. As I mentioned before, the seats types are confusing and don't go by year. In fact, some 1987 coupes with passive belts got the late seats. As the other poster told you, the best way to tell is by where the setback release is, or how they attach to the car. The early driver seat is only held in with 2 Allen bolts. It uses "hooks" in the back. The later driver seat is held in with 4 Allen bolts I believe.
