I always would throw out the newer side mounts for the oldest types during an engine "pull-out". They are simple, work forever even when worn out, and really easy to install. I still have a bunch. The newer fronts with two different straps are horrible but the more solid strapped versions are very easily fixed by simply inserting a small block of wood between the strap and the rubber cushion on the bottom.Use two 3/4" wood screws through the already pre-drilled holes to hold the block in place forever. This prevention will keep your exhaust downpipe from metal fatigue breakage AND distributor cap mutilation caused by the "front" of the engine rocking up and down when accelerating and decelerating hundreds of times per trip especially while shifting using full boost.Saab should have stuck to their original version.
