I use brake- fluid compatible rubber grease- mine's made by PBR in Australia, but Castrol makes some, too.
The advantage over brake fluid or similar (Raybestos Brake Assembly Fluid, e.g.) is that the
grease is non- hygroscopic and doesn't rust the air- exposed parts like brake fluid does.
As they say, 'a little dab'll do ya'- I use a very thin coating.
