C900's with LH injection and automatic transmissions are equipped with a switch which when closed tells the ECU to bump up the idle about 150 RPM. The switch closes when you shift into any gear (not N or P) to compensate for the extra load. Start your car, stand on the brake and shift into drive and see if the idle goes up. If so, then it's working OK. You may just be tricking it to close when you touch it. Not aware that there is any diode involved? The wires to that switch are one white and one orange and it's part of the complex on the shift lever.
