So my problem is I'm running a little lean at idle. About 17 on the airfield ratio gauge. So when you go drive it it runs great it seems like it's just fine. But the air fuel ratio gauge is showing me that I'm running lean. Could it be malfunctioning air fuel ratio gauge it has about 12,000 mi on that O2 sensor.I've sprayed the whole engine down all the rubber connectors are new everything has been changed, when I spray it with carburetor cleaner I get no signs of a vacuum leak. The idol stays solid. You would think if I'm getting air into the system it should definitely raise the RPMs if I spray with carburetor cleaner. I don't have the rubber grommets anymore they've been removed and plugged everything is hard lined now the only rubber grommet I have left is on the valve cover. I 3M taped every hard line opening. The idol is fine. Just putting all this out there to try and get some insight from someone else. I swapped out all of the fuel injectors for different fuel injectors no change. I put a fuel pressure gauge on it have plenty of fuel pressure.I've driven the car with the fuel pressure in the gauge under full boost I have plenty of fuel pressure. Changed out the fuel pressure regulator with a known working one from a different car still no change.I keep leaning towards a malfunctioning airfuelratio gauge with all the things that I have changed. Fuel pump is a new Bosch unit.I guess I could have a hole in the intercooler letting a little bit of air in. But I have pressurized the whole system. Have not been able to find an air leak that way either. Some thinking outside the box would be great I've been tracking this problem for quite a while. 86 Saab 900 turbo. Has a split second computer. It does not run off the standard computer anymore. The distributor is locked in at 25°, no vacuum canister. Been running great for a couple of years set over a winter went to drive it started having this issue. I got rid of all of the bad wires I pulled all of the injector plug wires out and replaced a couple of them that were bad. This motor only has about 8,000 mi on it. Valve job brand new Pistons, rings, crank was turned down oversized bearings the whole nine yards. I don't see how sitting over a winner would cause it to start running lean that's what makes me think it's the gauge.Sorry for rambling on just trying to get everything covered ,the things that I've done. Anybody got any thoughts thanks.
