yes, that is why I followed up on JerseySaab's suggestion to use a pair of 100w resistors in place of the seat back heater. Anyway, I finally worked up sufficient courage to take the back cover off, found a single break in the nichrome, and soldered a short jumper across the break--- it was where the pad heater crosses under one of the listing cables. So, complete heating pad (bottom & back) now works! Taking the covers off of these seats was a bit more complicated than usual, because they had been recovered about 12 years ago by a custom upholstery shop, so there were lots of hog rings, s-clips, and tension cables in unexpected places. My first experience at auto-upholstery, can't say I enjoyed it...
