They're relatively easy to clean inside Posted by RS [Email] (#15) [Profile/Gallery] (more from RS) on Wed, 19 May 2021 06:03:24 In Reply to: Headlights for 1991 900, Pete66, Tue, 18 May 2021 13:35:49 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I was surfing to find out about what kind of alcohol to pour in and swish around to remove the normal DOT headlight haze and found this SAABNet post from 2004 abut taking a piece of bent hanger, making a bit of a hook, wrapping a bit of paper towel on the hook, and securing it with some wire wire. It was worth a try and worked well.

Did 6 headlights a few years ago with good success and, as of today, they still haven't hazed up again.
The big caveat is to wrap the wire tightly enough to not lose the paper towel in the headlight :-)
For those of us who have messed around with fiddles, the process is sort of like using a soundpost tool ... but much more forgiving of wee episodes of clumsiness.
A guy on one of the Facebook C900 groups has used a magnet wrapped in window cleaner soaked paper towel of clean the inside of the lens, using a stronger magnet on the outside of the lens to pull the interior magnet around. He glues a string to the interior magnet to make it easy to remove. I haven't tried that strategy yet.
