'There are products for that'
but as you note, they're not 100% effective over time.
The extent of my experience has been to use flexible fillers,
a limited amount of 'plastic welding' with... average... results,
and flex agent in the paint.
The flex agent DOES work, and it helps a lot with flexing with
the plastic, especially as the paint cures. There are also primers that
'soften' the bumper to help with adhesion.
I have only used the SEM brand for prep, and PPG flex. It did ok.
I couldn't get it to look like new, but as a '5 foot' job,
it was plenty good.
I detest youtoob- but for things like this, watching a few
videos on 'bumper cover restoration' isn't a total waste.
