I had the same problem. Here is what I did open the trunk. The center light to my 900 1994 convertible lights up when Appling the brakes but no light on left or right. On the left side you will see wirings. with rubber Insulation. make a cut to expose the wiring. there is a red wire that that's on when the brake is applied. splice into it and with another wire I used a Red wire. take this wire to the back and splice it onto a red wire running between both tail light. this should fix your lights. If you don't have a assistant to press the brakes, You can make a board that that one end on the brakes and the other is wedge on your steering wheel.
