Frustrated with car covers.
We have 4 c900 Turbos and a 2-car garage so some have to remain outdoors in a moderate west coast environment. I’ve religiously used various (both cheap and expensive) covers over well-waxed cars for many years with good results but ultimately they all start leaving disgusting white powder requiring a thorough wipe down. Some of the best have been Saab OEM fitted covers which are no longer available. A year ago I bought Budge heavy-duty 5-year covers in tan thinking they were higher quality than the cheap on-line ones. They looked great at first but now they are faded to grey and degraded with holes rapidly developing and the nasty white stuff everywhere. A long talk with their customer relations, even with concrete purchasing proof and the one year time-line history, went nowhere. So, my question is: Has anyone found a cover that lasts without the frustrating white sh*t problem? Or, just buy cheap evil-bay covers and toss them after a year filling up the local landfill? I have Sunbrella boat covers that have lasted 10 years without a problem. Has any one tried one of them? Around $600 for a c900 fitted Sunbrella cover so not a small investment.
Yeah, thinning out the fleet or a bigger garage is a solution but not all that desirable…
