Another thing you might want to do is clean the inside of the throttle body where the butterfly valve is. It gets surprisingly gunky in there and definitely affects idle. Just remove the air intake hose and squirt some carb cleaner on a rag, open the butterfly manually with the throttle lever and clean it all up.

Also, make sure the passages for the Idle Air Control valve are clear and there are no vacuum leaks. Some of those hoses get really brittle.
