Paul, 10W30 will work fine. Final drive gears in the C900 transmissions (automatic and manual) only exhibit wear or damage when they are run without oil or when the pinion or carrier bearings become so worn that the gears fail to mesh properly. So the only reason to use a different oil would be to possibly improve pinion bearing life. I've rebuilt many T37 automatics that had heavy gear oil and many with 10w30 in the final drive compartment and noticed no difference in the state of the pinion bearings, they were usually fine. In fact the pinion bearings in the T37 don't seem to wear out like the five speed manual pinion bearings. The main reason I disassembled the pinion bearing component in these was to replace the seals that are between the front and rear pinion bearings. Those seals prevent transfer of final drive lube into the transmission compartment and ATF into the final drive compartment. Bear in mind that regardless of your choice for differential lube the front pinion bearing is still running in ATF. (So...10w30 is just fine.)
