As a test of the MAF, when it acts up, unplug it. If it works after 2 or so starts it very well may be the issue. But yes fuel, coolant temp sensor or even an ignition module or dizzy. You can spray brake clean on the ignition module in the left front fender to quickly cool it and see if the car starts working again.
As far as the MAF itself send it to Injection Labs in Colorado to be rebuilt if that ends up the problem. I have not seen an off brand ever work in an LH car. As a second option Fuel Injection Corp in California can rebuild them also. Good Luck, Bernie
