So... me thinks it has something to do with an additional test connector for the LH 2.4.2/EZK system labeled 391 in the diagrams (besides the normal 4-pin connector by the fuse box above the LH wheel well)

a "Series Resistor" for the same system labeled 395, whatever the heck that thing is.

The only other thing I could find is a burglar alarm for a convertible as the wiring diagrams have a yellow and brown wire that would connect to a hood switch and that would be connected to an alarm in above the RH wheel well. Guessing yours is a hardtop if it's a '93 CE, but that wiring harness was probably standard for both hatch and conv models, so it incorporated both wiring possibilities for manufacturing ease and cost-effectivness.
These are complete shots in the dark so hopefully someone who knows what they're actually talking about will either confirm or correct my assumptions. Till then, hope things clean up well for your harnesses. Mine took 3 complete days to clean up and label all engine bay connections.
