one time we were out in the sticks, somewhere between baltimore and harrisburg and i lost my clutch line and pulled into a farm, there was a nice old lady that drove me to the nearest parts store and i found some random hose and extra brake fluid and got it bled enough to limp home to philadelphia.
I went to a hydraulic shop and got actual hydraulic hose of a close diameter and held it on with hose clamps. That worked for a long time until I had the engine out and figured it might as well replace it.
I had mixed results from the proparts and other aftermarket lines. One lasted a year busted at the soft line. the other is a few years strong.
The soft line seems to be the failure point, so ensuring you have good motor mounts will probably protect the life of the line, and making sure its not rubbing in any weird way, that the hard line isnt bent in a way makes it too tight of bend.
