Bad leak from 84 C900 fuel tank Posted by DDJ [Email] (#3297) [Profile/Gallery] (more from DDJ) on Mon, 23 Oct 2023 10:54:32 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi,
I have a leak coming from an area of fuel line that sits above the tank (So, presumably the feed line from the pump?), with pretty substantial flow, dripping down the line. It seems I'm going to need to drop the tank. I have the Bentley shop manual, but some of what I'm seeing appears at odds with it. So - number one, is there a post somewhere that outlines the actual steps for an '84 tank removal? Second, the manual says to use the pump to empty the tank, which seems fine, but the only instruction is 'remove fuel line from pump'. How is that possible without destroying the plastic line or removing the banjo fitting (in which case I have no way to fit a drain line to it)? There seems to be a secondary pump (is this the 'supply pump') that sits just forward of the fuel tank, which has the supply line and another line connected to it. There is also an additional line connected to neither! (Return line???) None of this is covered in the manual, that I can find.
Any advice or guidance is deeply appreciated!
David
