So the tanks are plastic. Lift up the panel in the back and the fuel pump has a metal clamp that will hold a rubber Bellow on in the fuel pump pops out the top. I usually take an impact and a pair of vise grips hold the fuel pump with the vice grips and zip the 19 mm nut off the top rather quickly to not break the plastic line. Other people may have a different way of doing it that's just how I've done it for the last 20 years. I do have what's called a koul tool press because I do work on a lot of Saabs. It presses in those plastic lines in case you break something you are able to repair it those are expensive by the way. I would get it pulled out first and obviously do your measuring and find out what size large pump you need and then figure out if you even have a feeder pump. My 1986 SPG just has the main pump and it's the only thing attached to the rubber Bellow. Others have an actual canister that has to feed her pump and the main pump sits inside that that can be difficult to deal with especially if it's older and the O-rings have turned really hard. Let us know how it goes.
