I usually check visually by following the lines. A handheld vacuum gauge could be useful if you have something like a Mightyvac. I’ts been quite a few years since I had a 900, but check the intake large bellows making sure it’s fastened tight and has no holes or cracks. I believe the 900 had a vacuum reservoir (right side?) so if your car has that make sure it isn’t leaking. You could temporarily clamp the vacuum line leading to the reservoir and see if it changes the idle. I have found unexpected vacuum leaks over the years like a fitting that came loose on the intake manifold and an intake bellows with a quarter-inch hole in it.
