Chris.
It has been a while since we talked ,so I thought I would give you an update . The Engine and Transmission are in the car and working well .But as is common for me I have other problems .Turns out the car had never been registered in this province and required a safety check.I was having problems getting all the brakes lights to work and after considerable time and multiple lights I traced the issue down to a bad connection between the wiring block and the holder for the lights. Both sides worked and off I went for the checkup. I had been driving the car on a temporary license. Just over 200 kilometers one short excursion up to 100mph .Smooth as glass and seemed to have lots left over .Not wishing to harm or stress it, I kept it short .
Back to my current issue. On the way home from the last failed checkup I had a friend check that the brake lights really were not working and sure enough they were not on and on top of that the brakes failed completely the low brake fluid light came on as well as the anti lock light . I ended up having the car towed back to my house not willing to trust the hand brake in traffic. The brake fluid was indeed low and I have since added a full liter but the lights do not go off . It gets worse; most of the added fluid is now gone .I have checked all the flexible hoses front and back and the clutch and there is nothing on the floor of my garage.
Chris you could do me a great favor by passing this Saab (sorry for the bad pun) on to the group .
Your friend,Mert
