I would recommend watching the oil guy on youtube. I had no idea that oil was so complicated with the additive packages!

I now know why it is super important not to fool with this on more modern cars. The reason my 2005 9-3SS needs the Mobil European Formula is totally different to the reason my 2019 A5 needs a special VW spec oil as it is DI and has the potential for LSPI.

For my C900T I have always stuck to regular oil as recommended originally. This is in a moderate climate though. The newer synthetics may not be better for an older engine due to the specific functions of the modifiers that are the special sauce in them. Experimenting may not be ideal. I do change at 1yr/5K but only 135K on it.
