Hello,
I believe you can use a tank up until mid 88. But I would double check the lines and even the filter. In the last few years I have seen quite a few leaks from the metal part of the line the banjo bolts go through. Also it is possible for the grommets were various lines enter the tank to fall apart at this age. How full was the tank before it leaked. To check the lines you might have to start the car for a few seconds and see if starts leaking and maybe even were it leaking from. Good Luck, Bernie
