That stuff has always impressed me as pretty basic but durable "firewall insulation." And the photo shows your current status as looking in pretty good shape. Are you sure you want to replace it? I think the glue-attachment is often good enough to make that job quite difficult...I have never removed it in any of my past 900 projects.

A simple search for the term shows brands like Hushmat and SecondSkinAudio's firewall insulation kit as possible options. I might consider these as ways of adding further sound-deadening but I would be reluctant to peel away the original install unless it's somehow compromised.
